/ 2025 Flex Rates
Flex Rates allows us to offer flexible pricing, which gives you the opportunity to secure the best possible rental rate. The Flex Rates are based on a very simple system of supply and demand. So when there are a large number of vehicles available for hire from a particular branch then the rental rate is lower.
This way you can benefit from the lower rates offered. Generally, this means that the earlier you book the cheaper the rate! There will also be great Standby Rates! |

Short Term Specials:
To fill in gaps between rentals, we may at times be able to offer Short Term Specials. These may include unlimited kilometres or it may include a specific number of kms and in this case, any extra kms will be charged at NOK 3.50 per km.

Saturday
Pick Up and Drop Off
Pick up and Drop off on a Saturday is available. A fee
of NOK 1,040 applied
for each pick up and drop off on a Saturday.
Depots are closed on Sundays
and Public Holidays. Not available at Stavanger depot.
Oslo Airport Transfer:
Airport Transfer from Gardenmoen
Airport to Depot - NOK 710 each way for
up to 4 people / NOK 920 for 5-6 people.
Pick up and Drop Off Times:
Please use these times as a guide only, as they may change slightly between depots.
Pick Up - Monday to Friday: 1pm to 3pm
- Saturday: 10am to 2pm
Drop Off - Monday to Friday: 9am to 11am
- Saturday:
9am to 11am
Festivals:
Please note that it is not generally
allowed to travel to festivals with our rental vehicles.
Participation in festivals and other events is only permitted with the express
consent of the Rental Company.
Late & Early Drop Offs:
If the vehicle is returned after the time that was agreed in writing,
we charge a late fee for every extra hour or part of an hour and pass on any claims for compensation
for damages that may be asserted by the next renter or another person due to
a late receipt of the vehicle.
If the vehicle is returned before the
expiration of the agreed rental period - there is no refund for unused days
unless the vehicle can be rented to another party.
Norway Toll Surcharge:
Please note: A daily fee of NOK 139
will apply for every booking. This is to cover the road
tolls in Norway.
Not included:
Fuel and operating costs are to be borne by the renter.
The vehicles are handed over with a full fuel tank and they are to be returned full. A fee will apply if the vehicle is not returned full.
Drivers
Age / Licence / Weight of Vehicle:
Minimum age is 21 years, and must have held a full drivers licence for a minimum of 1 year (3 years for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes). No maximum age. A higher minimum age of 25 years applies for all Premium Class Vehicles. For the Premium range - you are required to hold a licence that allows you to drive a vehicle over 3.5 tonnes. Please check vehicle weight and your licence.
Security deposit / Refundable bond:
You are required to leave a security deposit at the time of pick up (Excess amount NOK 15,000). For rentals up to 30 days - the security deposit will be blocked not deducted from the credit card. For rentals of more then 30 days, the security deposit will continued to be deducted from the credit card. Accepted credit cards are Visa / Mastercard.
CDW Reduction
Alternatively you can take out CDW at NOK 120 per day & reduce
the Excess/Bond to NOK 9,000 per incident. *

Liability and Comprehensive Insurance Protection:
The renter bears the costs of any damage that occurs
during the rental period while using the vehicle in accordance
with the contract up to NOK 15,000 per
case of damage.
If the damage is caused by
intent or gross negligence, especially if the renter was
unable to drive due to the consumption of drugs or alcohol,
the liability limitation does not apply. The same applies
to any damage caused by not observing traffic sign 265 (maximum
vehicle height on a road). Despite the agreed limitation
of liability, the renter is moreover fully liable for any
damage caused by failure to observe the vehicle dimensions
(vehicle height and width), by improper loading and unloading
and by the load or by driving backwards without being directed.
The renter is liable for any
damages claimed by a third party against him/her or against
McRent that the renter has caused to a third party during
the use of the object of rental. The renter is liable for
all fees, levies, fines, and punishments that are imposed
on the lessor in connection with the use of the vehicle unless
they are caused by fault of the lessor.
Authorised Drivers:
The vehicle may only be driven by the renter himself/herself and by the drivers
specified in the rental contract.
Substitute Vehicle:
In case the reserved vehicle cannot be made available at the rental station,
the lessor reserves the right to provide a vehicle that is comparable in
size and equipment or bigger. That will not cause any additional rental costs
for the renter. If a smaller vehicle is offered and accepted by the renter,
the price difference of both vehicles is reimbursed. If the provision of
a bigger vehicle causes higher ancillary costs, such as ferry charges and
tolls or operating costs, such costs are to be borne by the renter.
Trips Abroad:
It is possible to make trips abroad within Europe. Any trips to East European
countries are subject to the lessor's prior approval. Trips to any war and
unstable zones are forbidden.
Please note: No Travel to Russia is allowed.

Shortening of Rental Period:
If a renter shortens their hire period by more than a week - it may be treated as a cancellation of the whole booking and a re-booking. This depends on when the amendment takes place and how many days of hire are being cancelled. Please ensure you always have travel insurance in place.
